The match of the century!!!

Forget Jason v Freddy this IS going to be the biggest battle of them all!

Yeah right!

More like the squib of the century or handbags at twenty paces.

Talk about being disappointed.

Paul W Anderson manages to get every iconic detail we know about these two great franchises on screen but then proceeds to rob them of all their impact.
All the elements that we associate with these characters are all there to be seen but it had none of the awe we felt in their individual films!! This was a bit like me trying to draw like Picasso, you can imagine the results for yourself.

Even the ending was a kind of homage to Carrie but even that just looked cheesy and did not make much sense anyway.

This should have been a megabuck movie with topnotch actors, instead we get some lightweight Ripley wannabe who matches to get on my nerves within two minutes of her being on screen!!
There was a blonde girl in the movie who in the 2 minutes she was on screen seemed 10 times better suited to the main role. The Ripley wannabe in this movie was not convincing one bit and her attempts to make "you bitch" comments seemed awkward and out of character!!!

The script was lightweight and full of holes, now we are meant to believe that the Predators are responsible for the pyramids and that Aliens have been on earth for centuries!!! Hogwash!
Even the established incubation time for an alien once implanted in a host seemed to have been speeded up for this movie, the creatures went from implantation to busting out in minutes and then to full grown adulthood in another 60 sec's!!!
Also they established early on in this movie that the Predators always scan people for signs of infection or disease then at the end they decide to take onboard their ship a fallen comrade who has just spent time in the midst of Aliens without bothering to check if he had been implanted!?! Duh!

The actual battles between the predators and the aliens was mostly unwatchable, the fight direction was one of the worst I have ever seen!
The whole point of this movie is to see the two different creatures battle, why then would you make most of the battle scenes unwatchable?
The fights were mostly in dark places and done in a fast and jerky manner that you really do not know what is going on!
Did they not see Aliens? Now that is classic and they knew how to shoot action of the Alien variety in that movie.

The premise of the movie is that the Predators are using the Aliens as prey to prove themselves as worthy hunters. The Predators have a captive Alien Queen that is kept on Earth and is made to breed Aliens with humans as host every 100 years and then the Predators go in for their ritual hunt. Now it is time for another hunt and some more humans have been lured to the queen for incubation, but this time the humans are not giving in so easily but who do the humans side with? And does the maxim: "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" hold true here?

The comic Aliens Vs Predator was 20 times better than this car wreak of a movie, why o why did they not use that as the script? I will never understand Hollywood execs but they totally missed the boat on this one! Everyone responsible for this movie should be paid visit by a facehugger!!!

If you cannot tell I did NOT like this movie.
