| Frank Abergnale Jr in 1963 embarked on an adventure only few of us would have the guts to do. He started passing himself off in successive order as a pilot, a doctor and then a lawyer. During this period he was also busy forging checks and generally living the life of riley and he was only seventeen! | |

This film to me was almost a male fantasy put on screen, loads of beautiful women, a flash car and loads of money. I was rooting for Frank all through the film and not his arch-enemy Carl Handratty portrayed by Tom Hanks. One thing I enjoyed was the references to the time priod this film is set in, like showing Frank watching a Bond movie and suddenly mirroring himself after James Bond, the fact that when Carl Handratty discovers that he reads comics he automatically assumes that he must be a kid! and the total lack of any kind of tape recorders by the FBI to record incoming calls. The film does show a consequence to Franks actions but that is soon overshadowed by subsequent events which I will not spoil for you. This film is given more weight by the fact that this is all based on real life events. To cut a long story short Catch me if you can is a decent enough movie with a number of memorable scenes. |

Watch out for Christopher Walken's scene stealing portrayal of Frank Abergnale Senior. Well I am off to find a copy of the real life Abergnale's book. This movie scores a 6.5/10 See ya later, Shazam! |
