If you have seen the trailers, then you know what this movie is all about.
As the advert says, "it does what it says on the can".

The movie does not disappoint in it's aim to wow thje crowd, and manages to convey the power of weather gone mad very well.

This will not be a film nominated at the Oscars but at least the actors were all competent without being stellar and at least this movie did not have any stereotypical bad/dumb guys that normally populate such films.

Dennis Quaid is likable as the scientist who tries to warn the government about the effects of Global warming and we all root for him when he decides to launch a mission to rescue his son, his son is played by Jake Gyllenhaal, who you will remember as the weird kid from Donnie Darko

The script itself was pretty decent and to me seemed plausible, well as plausible as can be expected for a Hollywood movie.

The role reversal of the thirrd world and the so called developed world towards the end of the movie was quite entertaining for me at least.

This is a pleasant 100 mins diversion with some spectacular special effects.

So enjoy yourself and be prepared to feel guilty about using your 2.0 injection car the next time you go to the supermarket around the corner!!

This has a global warming factor of 6.5/10
